“The more you improve, the more you’ll get out of No Gi Essentials. It is quite possibly Roy Dean’s best DVD to date, an impressive achievement considering the high standard he has set in the past.”

“If you want smaller details on making your armbar better, tightening your footlocks, or even a few more ideas than you already have, this is a bargain. Consider it the most well thought out 2hr private lesson on no gi grappling you’ll ever get, at one quarter the price!”

Pros and cons of No Gi Essentials app for iPhone and iPad

No Gi Essentials app good for

This is a very high quality app. Videos look great, and the interface is dead simple. It would be great to have some sort of written drill plan, as remembering all the details from the video is difficult when practicing (I wrote my own, but something from the author would be better). Roy had a good personality, too, so re-watching videos is not at all annoying. Definitely worth the purchase price.
To the point and good explanations. Camera angles are great and picture quality are superb. Overall a great app! I was hesitant on the price but I am very impressed. With everything they offer in this app makes it $40 well spent.
Very high quality video, audio, clear explanations. I learned a lot out of it and submitted many opponents with these techniques :-)
This guy is a great BJJ instructor. He teaches very high level techniques with simplicity that anyone can get. The video quality is great. And the app works on the iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone which adds even more value. The videos are in the app itself instead of being streamed through the internet like some of the other BJJ apps. Its easily worth the 24.99$ price tag. Recommended for BJJ newcomers and seasoned practitioners.
Amazing instruction from basic to advanced. All of Roy Deans apps are great. They may seem pricey, but you use more from this app than any other BJJ apps out there. Quality makes this app all worth it. Bring this to where you train and use it with a partner. Does not disappoint.
This is a great video for all levels of No Gi. Other apps may have more video at a lesser price but the quality in technique you receive from Roy Dean is what you pay for. Thanks for the app bud. Hope to see you at the Oregon Open this year.
